National Unity Party (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has promised to address cattle rustling in Katakwi District and the entire Teso region.

Bobi Wine who was holding his first campaign on day four said for a long time the region has suffered and remained impoverished due to cattle rustlers.

“I know that people here used to keep their cattle and educate their children. People had their land and were peaceful but all that is no more.  I ask you to trust me with your vote so that we together create a new Uganda,” Bobi Wine said.

Teso sub-region and Karamoja have both suffered immense trouble caused by cattle rustlers.

Until last year, the problem had gone silent but on Christmas day – parts of the region experienced a “worrying” resurgence of the problem.

Bobi Wine said such are the issues that his presidency  will address.

Bobi Wine also promised to tackle the problem of joblessness, create opportunities for all Ugandans and represent the youth.
