Makindye Chief Magistrates Court has remanded a Director and teacher at Kisugu High School Celestine Kasolo to Luzira Prison on six charges of disturbances at examination and nine counts of wrongful confinement.
Kasolo has been arraigned before Grade One Magistrate Igga Adiru and denied the charges.
The Prosecution led by State Attorney Carol Opa told court that on October 26th 2023 disrupted six candidates who were writing their final examinations at Kisugu High School in Makindye Division in Kampala District, a place which had been designated as an examination centre with intentions to disrupt the conduct of an examination.
The candidates who were disturbed and ended up missing biology exam include Daniel Achom, Robert Ojambo , Al Mahad Saddick , Nicholas Orionzi, Calvin Onyango and Simon Peter Mandiko
The court also heard that after disturbing these candidates, Kasolo also wrongfully detained them. They were reportedly locked in his office the whole day on indiscipline allegations.
He has been remanded until November 12th 2023 for bail hearing.
Relatedly the same court has also charged Abdul Karim Sseguya alias Fresh Karim a site helper resident of Gangu A Zone Busabala Road Makindye Ssabagabo with unauthorized possession of examination materials .
