Bobi spends night in jail .

Several people are now demanding the release of Mr Robert Kyagulanyi both physically and via social media. He was detained on November 18, 2020.

National Unity Platform Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi has been charged with doing an act likely to spread COVID-19 infection disease.This is according to a charge sheet issued by Luuka police station. It recorded him as a male adult of 38 years, a Presidential aspirant and resident of Magere Village, Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso district. Police says Bobi Wine and others at large on November 18, at around 11:00 am at Luuka Town district, knowingly or having reason to believe that it was likely to spread infectious disease mobilized and addressed a campaign rally of more than 100 people who were not respecting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of Electoral Commission and Ministry of health and act likely to spread infectious disease.

“Police should know that it is incumbent upon them to serve the citizens with absolute fairness, equity and humility,” hankered National Unity Platform (NUP) spokesperson Mr Joel Ssenyonyi, late Wednesday night outside the disreputable Nalufenya prison, Jinja city, even as his party president spent the night behind bars.

A number of pro-Bobi elements braced the cold-inky night – whetting their ambitions of having their candidate released, just as the moon and stars set over the horizon.On November 03, incumbent president and National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate Mr Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni- warned that his regime had intent to crackdown people, including politicians flouting Covid-19 guidelines.
