Mao was campaigning in Abim district in Karamoja sub region.
On the way, he found police officers had blocked the road to stop him from proceeding to the rally venue. His guards assigned by the Electoral Commission got out of their car and accosted a cop holding a pistol. The guards also drew their pistols and pushed the cop out of the way.
Mao’s convoy then made its way through. “We regret the incident of conflict between two of our task teams during the DP campaign trail in Abim District,” police said.
