The outgoing Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Sarah Langa Siu, officially handed over office to her successor, Pamela Lamunu Ochaya, in a ceremony held at the Supreme Court in Kampala
Langa, who served for four and a half years, highlighted key achievements during her tenure, including the resolution of 1.1 million cases and the operationalization of judiciary regulations.
She also used the event to launch her book, Qualified by God, which details her journey in the Judiciary.
Lamunu, taking over in an acting capacity, acknowledged the challenges ahead and praised Langa for her leadership and mentorship.
Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo praised Langa’s dedication and resilience, noting that she had endured working with him despite his reputation for being difficult.
He commended her for strengthening the Judiciary and expressed confidence in her future as a High Court judge.

The permanent Secretary Dr. Pius Bigirimana highlighted Langa’s incorruptibility and efficiency.
He praised her leadership in the Contracts Committee, which ensured quality infrastructure projects, including the new Supreme Court and Court of Appeal buildings.
The handover marks a significant transition as Langa moves on to serve as a High Court judge.
