The National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) party has accused the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and its presidential flag bearer, Nandala Mafabi, of illegally using its official slogan, “Money in Your Pocket,” which it says is gazetted with the Electoral Commission.
While addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Nsambya NEED President Joseph Kabuleta said the slogan is a key part of the party’s identity and warned that continued use by FDC could lead to legal consequences.
He called the act by FDC a theft of intellectual property and urged the Electoral Commission to intervene immediately.
Kabuleta revealed that he has instructed its lawyers to take action.
Meanwhile, Kabuleta dismissed recent claims that he had been suspended from the party presidency for 90 days, calling the move illegal, unconstitutional, and a “clown show.”
A group of NEED officials led by the national spokesperson Moses Matovu announced the suspension, citing abuse of power, tribalism, and failure to convene executive meetings.
Kabuleeta further declared that he was resuming full spokesperson duties with immediate effect, in line with the party constitution, which names the president as the chief spokesperson.
