Another group of 14 FDC Members from the Katonga Faction   including 2 members of Parliament has been arraigned before Buganda Road court on charges of being a common nuisance.
The group including MPs Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda of Kira Municipality ,   Kabale Municipality MP Kamara Nicholas , the Kampala Deputy Mayor Doreen Nyanjura and Kaija Harold among other  leaders appeared before the Chief magistrates Ronald Kayizzi and denied the charges.
The group is accused of turning rowdy and blocking pathways as  they planned to stage  a unlawful procession to the Kenyan High commission offices in Kampala,   to demand an explanation regarding the arrest of 36 of their members in Kisumu  Kenya who were returned to Uganda by Kenyan Authorities, charged with   Terrorism  and remanded to Luzira by Nakawa Court.
Five of the suspects including  Kaija Harold , Mps Kamara Nicholas , Semujju Nganda , Nangozi Faridah  and Deputy Mayor Njajura Doreen have been each released on a one million non-cash bail, where as the other 9 members have been remanded to Luzira prison until 7th August, 2024  because their  sureties were found not to be substantial.
Prosecution states that today 6th August,2024, the 14 suspects along Katonga Road in Kampala acted in a rowdy manner and blocked pathways  there by inconveniencing others ; hence turning out to be a common nuisance.
