Police in Kamuli are investigating circumstances surrounding the alleged murder by shooting of a 28 year old man, identified as Kisige Moses
The incident occured yesterday at Kidunha-Luganda village Kiduna parish, Magogo subcounty in Kamuli district.
It is alleged, that Police Constable Sisye Isaac attached to Kisozi police station shot Kisige Moses whom he had gone to arrest after a series of reports of threatening violence against him by his father.
Kasadha Micheal the Busoga North police spokesperson says that preliminary findings indicate that as the police officer was in the process of effecting the arrest, the deceased allegedly threatened to cut him using a panga and he therefore discharged a bullet in air to scare him off.
Kasadha Micheal says that however,the action did not yield as the deceased advanced closer with determination to harm the officer, this prompted the officer to further discharge another bullet that caught the right thigh of the deceased.
He says that the deceased was rushed to Nankandulo Health center where he is likely to have succumbed to injuries.
Meanwhile Kasadha Micheal says that the police officer has been arrested to aid in investigations.
